This week we have been celebrating Burn’s Night by introducing some Scottish themes. It was particularly special for one of the children I childmind, FG, who is part Scot. Some of the things we enjoyed were:

  • Learning the Selkirk Grace
  • Playing traditional Scottish game Plainy Clappy
  • Junk modelling and painting a train we named The Flying Scot
  • Reading some Scottish Nursery Rhymes including The Three Craws
  • Colouring Scotland in on a UK map
  • Completing a Scotland flag puzzle
  • Attempting some Scottish Highland dancing (not sure what the neighbours made of it!
  • A cutting and sticking collage of magazine pics and fabrics
