This week we have been celebrating Burn’s Night by introducing some Scottish themes. It was particularly special for one of the children I childmind, FG, who is part Scot. Some of the things we enjoyed were:
- Learning the Selkirk Grace
- Playing traditional Scottish game Plainy Clappy
- Junk modelling and painting a train we named The Flying Scot
- Reading some Scottish Nursery Rhymes including The Three Craws
- Colouring Scotland in on a UK map
- Completing a Scotland flag puzzle
- Attempting some Scottish Highland dancing (not sure what the neighbours made of it!
- A cutting and sticking collage of magazine pics and fabrics
